  • Individual buildings, facilities, and parks
  • Policies, programs, and procedures
  • Municipal employee ADA training
16th Street mall

16th Street Mall Accessibility Analysis
MTC was selected by ZGF Architects of Portland, Oregon to conduct a comprehensive accessibility survey of Denver, Colorado's 16th Street Mall. This project is particularly interesting because current and proposed standards in the public and private sectors do not include information for public rights of way. The U.S. Access Board has developed proposed guidelines for public rights of way. These guidelines have been accepted by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration as "best practice" for the design of public rights of way. MTC used these guidelines to assess the 16th Street Mall and found that there are still many areas that are not well defined. This led to extensive consultation with representatives from the U.S. Access Board to resolve ambiguities. A comprehensive final report was delivered to ZGF in April 2010 for inclusion in the final 16th Street Mall Design Concept document.

Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport Accessibility
In cooperation with representatives of DIA, MTC conducted a walk-through of the airport using a series of scenarios to test the accessibility of all aspects of the airport from arrivals to departures and all amenities in between. The survey was used to make accessibility changes in anticipation of the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
